Altering Books

There are so many awesome artists that are using books in such unusual ways. Remember making Christmas trees by folding the pages of Reader's Digest? The we would spray paint them gold or silver and TA-DAHH! I guess this was one of the first "altered" book type of project I can remember. Well the art of repurposing books has come a long way. 

 What better way to combine my two loves, BOOKS and CRAFTS. As an elementary school librarian I am surrounded by books everyday. When the books have reached their original life limit, the thought of tossing them out always made me crazy. So now I will try and create with them. I will also search and post the amazing things I find out there that others are doing with books. Stay tuned for a peek at my first projects. In the meantime here are some AMAZING examples of altered book art I found out there.
